Important! Any limits set in manage customer page are not applied on cards. These limits are used to validate number when limits are updated on cards from 'Manage Cards' page.
Maximum number of Diesel (liters/gallons) that driver can purchase in one day. It is based on the contract currency. If the limit is set to 300 and the contract’s currency is USD, then the limit will be 300 ‘gallons’. Similarly, if the contract’s currency is CAD, then the limit will be 300 ‘liters’. This applies for DEF, Reefer limits also.
If a card falls under USD contract and is used to buy fuel from Canada, then limit will be converted to Litters. For example, if limit is set to 300 and contract currency is USD, then cards under this contract can buy fuel upto 1135.62 liters. Similarly, if contract currency is CAD and card (under this contract) is used to buy fuel in USA, then liters will be converted to gallons. In this example card under CAD contract (with limit set to 300 on card) can fuel upto 79.2516 gallons in USA.
If you see a driver has fueled i.e. purchased diesel, def or reefer more than the specified limit or driver sees limit exceeded error, then using card in foreign country is the most common reason. Perform following steps to verify such transactions where driver fueled more than the maximum limit or driver is not able to buy fuel up to specified limit:
- Navigate to Manage Cards page and find card number associated with the transaction in concern and note contract id of this card.
- Expand Customers menu and click on Manage EFS Policies and click on Policy Operations button. This will open EFS Policy Operations page.
- Click on View Contracts button in EFS Policy Operations page. This will open Contracts window. Find contract id (that you noted in bullet 1 above) in this window and see its currency.
If currency of the contract is different than the currency of transaction, then driver can fuel more than the set limit when fueling in USA under Canadian contract or driver will be unable to buy fuel up to the set limit when fueling in Canada under USD contract.
